Reaching All Readers Conference
Assistive Technology for Reading, Writing
and Spelling
For Professionals, Parents and Adult Learners

May 3rd (full day) and May 10th (half day) 2008

Karen Janowski, M.S, Ed., OTL will present workshops on each day that will help participants promote academic independence with students who struggle with reading, written expression and spelling skills. On the morning on May 3rd, she will discuss software tools that enhance these skills through:
- Using what is readily available in new ways
- Using technology to differentiate instruction
- Promoting Universal Design for Learning
- Using accommodation strategies to complement remediation/instruction
Much more on the afternoon of May 3rd. You will:
- View software demonstrations of commercial programs for decoding, fluency, speech-to-print, and writing
- Learn to use free resources for developing vocabulary and comprehension
- Learn how software can remove the barriers to curriculum access and help students demonstrate what they know more independently.
- Expand your technology toolbox with an abundance of technology tool strategies
On the morning of May 10th, Karen Janowski will lead discussions that encourage an in-depth understanding of the use of computers and other technology to aid in reading and writing.

Professional Development Points will be available.
10 PDPs will be awarded to those who attend both days of the conference and complete a written assignment.
Registration for PDPs will take place at the conference.
